Action

The secret of getting things done is to act![i]

Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare.[ii] What may be done at any time will be done at no time.[iii] All the so-called "secrets of success" will not work unless you do.[iv]

Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.[v] The real contest is always between what you've done and what you're capable of doing. You measure yourself against yourself and nobody else.[vi] Natural ability without education has more often raised a man to glory and virtue than education without natural ability.[vii] Natural abilities are like natural plants; they need pruning by study.[viii] We all have ability. The difference is how we use it.[ix]  There is something that is much more scarce, something rarer than ability. It is the ability to recognize ability.[x]

You are the only person on earth who can use your ability.[xi] Ability will never catch up with the demand for it.[xii] Our work is the presentation of our capabilities.[xiii]

Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives.[xiv] As simple as it sounds, we all must try to be the best person we can: by making the best choices, by making the most of the talents we’ve been given.[xv] The more we do, the more we can do; the more busy we are, the more leisure we have.[xvi] When a man has put limit on what he will do, he has put a limit on what he can do.[xvii] There is no man living who isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do.[xviii]

It is surprising what a man can do when he has to, and how little most men will do when they don't have to.[xix]

Just do what you do best.[xx] Just Do It.[xxi]

What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.[xxii]

Jump into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars.[xxiii]

The superior man acts before he speaks, and afterwards speaks according to his action.[xxiv] People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do.[xxv] Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one's thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world.[xxvi]

Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.[xxvii]

The reason why so little is done is generally because so little is attempted.[xxviii]

Begin today! No matter how feeble the light let it shine as best it may. The world may need just that quality of light which you have.[xxix]

I think there is something, more important than believing: Action! The world is full of dreamers, there aren't enough who will move ahead and begin to take concrete steps to actualize their vision. [xxx]

The secret of getting ahead is getting started.[xxxi] Take action every day - some small dose at a time.[xxxii] Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.[xxxiii] The best way you can predict your future is to create it.[xxxiv]

Go for it now. The future is promised to no one.[xxxv] Action is the foundational key to all success.[xxxvi]
