Perseverance

Few things are impossible to diligence and skill ... Great works are performed, not by strength, but perseverance.[i]

No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.[ii] A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.[iii] Enthusiasm releases the drive to carry you over obstacles and adds significance to all you do.[iv] Enthusiasm is the yeast that makes your hopes shine to the stars. Enthusiasm is the sparkle in your eyes, the swing in your gait. The grip of your hand, the irresistible surge of will and energy to execute your ideas.[v] The condition of the most passionate enthusiast is to be preferred over the individual who, because of the fear of making a mistake, won't in the end affirm or deny anything.[vi] Enthusiasm is a vital element toward the individual success of every man or woman.[vii] I found that the men and women who got to the top were those who did the jobs they had in hand, with everything they had of energy and enthusiasm and hard work.[viii] Life's blows cannot break a person whose spirit is warmed at the fire of enthusiasm.[ix]

Get excited and enthusiastic about you own dream. This excitement is like a forest fire - you can smell it, taste it, and see it from a mile away.[x] Dreams get you into the future and add excitement to the present.[xi] Think excitement, talk excitement, act out excitement, and you are bound to become an excited person. Life will take on a new zest, deeper interest and greater meaning. You can think, talk and act yourself into dullness or into monotony or into unhappiness. By the same process, you can build up inspiration, excitement and surging depth of joy.[xii]

How long should you try? Until...[xiii]

Mediocre idea that generates enthusiasm will go further than a great idea that inspires no one.[xiv] You can give in to the failure message and be a bitter deadbeat of excuse. Or you can choose to be happy and positive and excited about life.[xv]

Do not be afraid of enthusiasm. You need it. You can do nothing effectively without it.[xvi]

The key that unlocks energy is desire, It’s also the key to a long and interesting life. If we expect to create and drive, any real force within ourselves, we have to get excited.[xvii]

A man can succeed at almost anything for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.[xviii] One man has enthusiasm for 30 minutes, another for 30 days, but it is man who has it for 30 years who makes a success of his life.[xix]

It is always with excitement that I wake up in the morning wondering what my intuition will toss up to me, like gifts from the sea. I work with it and relay on it. It’s my partner.[xx]

I feel sorry for the person who can't get genuinely excited about his work. Not only will he never be satisfied, but he will never achieve anything worthwhile.[xxi]

Lots of people limit their possibilities by giving up easily. Never tell yourself this is too much for me. It's no use. I can't go on. If you do you're licked, and by your own thinking too. Keep believing and keep on keeping on.[xxii] The most essential factor is persistence -- the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.[xxiii] By persisting in your path, though you forfeit the little, you gain the great.[xxiv]

I do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even nature.[xxv]

If you should put even a little on a little and should do this often, soon this would become big.[xxvi]
Life is to be lived. If you have to support yourself, you had bloody well better find some way that is going to be interesting.[xxvii]

I have made it a rule of my life never to regret and never to look back. Regret is an appalling waste of energy ... you can't build on it; it's only good for wallowing in.[xxviii] Do not say, 'It is morning,' and dismiss it with a name of yesterday. See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.[xxix] The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more you will have to express gratitude for.[xxx]

I advise you to say your dream is possible and then overcome all inconveniences, ignore all the hassles and take a running leap through the hoop, even if it is in flames.[xxxi] Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.[xxxii] Few things in the world are more powerful than a positive push. A smile. A word of optimism and hope. A "you can do it" when things are tough.[xxxiii] Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.[xxxiv] There are no limitations to the mind except those we acknowledge.[xxxv]

A great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.[xxxvi] It doesn't matter how many say it cannot be done or how many people have tried it before; it's important to realize that whatever you’re doing, it's you first attempt at it.[xxxvii]
